Financial Datasets is an institutional-grade stock market API. It provides financial statements, operating KPIs, stock prices, SEC filings, insider trades, institutional ownership, earnings data, and more. The API is built for AI agents, quantitative research, and financial applications.

There are three self-serve plans. Credits is a one-time $20 purchase that includes 1,000 requests, ideal for testing and small projects. Build is $200 per month and includes 100,000 requests with access to all core data endpoints and real-time data. Scale starts at $2,000 per month and includes 1,000,000 requests, plus data redistribution rights, webhooks, and uptime SLAs. Enterprise is a custom plan for companies that need bulk data delivery, historical backfills, zero data retention, and custom terms.

Premium data endpoints are available on every plan. Instead of gating access by tier, each premium request counts as a multiple of a standard request, and the multiplier depends on your plan: higher plans get lower multipliers. For example, if an endpoint's multiplier is 4x on your plan, one request to it uses 4 of your plan's requests. The current premium endpoints and their multipliers per plan are shown in the pricing table above. All other endpoints count as 1 request on every plan.

The API covers more than 27,000 global tickers, including delisted companies, with over 30 years of historical data. Coverage spans financial statements (standardized, segmented, and as-reported), stock prices, financial metrics, earnings and press releases, insider trades, institutional ownership, company news, SEC filings, and central bank interest rates. Yes. Real-time price snapshots and historical prices are available on all paid plans, with historical intervals from daily to yearly. Response times are typically under 200 milliseconds.

Yes, the API is designed for AI agents. There is a hosted MCP server at mcp.financialdatasets.ai that works with Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients, an OpenAPI spec at financialdatasets.ai/openapi.json, and llms.txt files that give LLMs a complete map of the API.

Data is sourced from primary documents such as SEC filings, earnings releases, and press releases. Values are verified against the underlying source documents to meet an institutional accuracy bar. Stock prices come from a leading licensed data provider. More info here.

On Credits, you can enable auto-reload, which automatically tops up your balance when it runs low so your requests keep working, or buy more credits at any time. On Build and Scale, requests keep working past your included amount at an overage rate: $10 per 1,000 requests on Build and $5 per 1,000 requests on Scale. Each plan also has a monthly request cap (1 million on Build, 10 million on Scale); once you reach it, requests pause until your next billing period.
